Great news my dudes!
Recently I received an email informing me that my novella published by Black Hare Press, Just Desserts, won an American Legacy Book Award in the Psychological Horror category!

Just Desserts was one of my very first longer works, in part inspired by Stephen King’s Carrie. I remember reading this in middle school and Carrie White’s story has stuck with me through all these years. I was relatively lucky while growing up and didn’t have many issues with bullying, but I wasn’t completely immune to it. And like any kid, when I self-reflect, I realize I may have played a hand in such activities as well.
Susan Moore is an amalgamation of people I both know and those I’ve seen in popular media. Rooting for the underdog has always been a favorite activity of mine and when writing, I realized what direction Susan needed to grow. Bring in a little medicine and revenge into the mix and I’m one happy author!
If you haven’t read Just Desserts yet, I encourage you to pick it up. When Susan was in high school, she was the butt of a near deadly joke that led to an ICU stay. 20 years later, after receiving a High School Reunion invitation, Sue serves up a dish of revenge (obviously best served cold).

And if you enjoy my or any author’s works, please consider reviewing on Goodreads and Amazon! Stay spooky!
